Something was definitely lost in translation during a Malaysian parliamentary debate last month when the Malay-speaking deputy higher-education minister tried to address a Tamil opposition member in his own tongue.

What Idris Haron apparently meant to say was "sit down." But what he said instead was "go [expletive] yourself."...
