Art and Betrayal

Artists are always worrying about the betrayals that art entails. Are the greatest artists likely to be failures as lovers, spouses, parents, or citizens? Does betrayal make the artist, or is it merely incidental? And does the artist's treachery in any way diminish his or her artistic contribution?
